For five years we have been moving between countries, with medication that needs refrigeration in our bag. If you travel with medication like that too, you know the question that never goes away: is it okay right now?

02The story
Because of one week. The first week of a six-month trip to Asia, which nearly ended the trip for us.
We set out on a six-month trip to Asia. The medication was in a cooler bag with ice packs, the way most people who travel with medication do it, and there was no way to know what was happening inside.
In the very first week an ice pack pressed against the medication, and it froze. Suddenly, instead of traveling, we were asking ourselves: have medication sent from home? Look for a hospital? Go back home?
In the end we got new medication at a hospital in Thailand. It cost us money and whole days of the trip, the route changed, and it was a big headache.
We looked for a real solution, and compared many cooler bags and other options. That is how we came across The Secrets Box. With it we went on for four and a half months, in Thailand and Japan, on flights and long journeys. Outside there were days of minus 3°C (27°F) and days of 37°C (99°F) and above, and the display showed 2 to 8°C (36 to 46°F) the whole way.
That is why we sell it, and we still travel with it.
03Four insights
With a cooler bag and ice packs you cannot know the temperature inside, or when the ice melted. Too cold? Already melted? There is no way to know. What we were looking for was a number on a display.
For us, an ice pack pressed against the medication, and it froze in the very first week. The Secrets Box cools and does not freeze: a smart system prevents freezing, and the temperature does not drop below 2°C (36°F).
Anyone who travels with medication knows this: you look for a hotel with a fridge, build the route around it, and sometimes give up a trip. When the fridge is in your bag and plugs into an outlet or a power bank (sold separately), you choose the destination.
Until we added up what that week cost us: new medication to replace what froze, a hospital visit abroad, and vacation days that were lost. And we have not even mentioned peace of mind.

Our answer: True, there is no power-disconnect alert. When the fridge is plugged in, the display is on and shows the temperature, and a dark display means there is no power, so it is worth glancing at it from time to time.

No. We did not invent The Secrets Box. We came across it on the road, after a lot of searching, and compared it with many cooler bags and other solutions. We sell it and travel with it ourselves. The product comes with a 1-year warranty against design and manufacturing defects, and if something goes wrong, contact us and we will take care of a repair or a replacement.
Practi is our brand. The Secrets Box is the fridge, a portable medication fridge in two models. Pack It Smarter is the store where it is all sold, which is why that name appears in the footer, on shipments and on documents.
